The Advanced Energy Design Guide developed as a collaborative effort of ASHRAE, AIA, USGBC, IES, and DOE provides design strategies to achieve zero energy and to make a significant reduction in carbon use for multifamily buildings. The guide contains rational for reducing energy in this sector, building effective design and owner teams and dozens of energy reduction tips that can be incorporated into new and existing multifamily projects. Case studies bring the reality of zero to projects. Presentations will dig into strategies for envelope, HVAC, lighting, hot water, and plug loads to show how zero energy/carbon goals can be met.
