Recent fire accidents and studies demonstrated that many of the green building features, which are employed as high-performance energy and environmental solutions, pose unintended fire hazards, which could also be hardly mitigated by thecapability of conventional fire protection systems. This session reviews fire safety challenges in designing green building design features, which include external facades (e.g. enhanced insulation products, double glazing), vegetative facade and roofs and building sustainable energy systems (PV solar panels, wind turbine power system, battery storage system, hydrogen fuel cell power systems and electric vehicle garage and charging stations).
