- ASHRAE
ASHRAE has funded a research project entitled, “Selecting and Preparing a Thermal Sensation Model for Use by the Profession.” The objective of the project was to produce a special publication with software incorporating an interactive front-end. Two existing thermal sensation models (PMV-PPD and ET*-DISC) were specifically required to be included in the software program. The interactive front-end allows a professional to estimate the predicted thermal sensation at a location in space. This report describes how the program was developed and introduces a Windows™ software package that was created during the course of this project. The software is straightforward and simple for professionals and researchers to use. A point-and-click interface allows easy adjustment of individual environmental paramenters with real-time updating of predicted sensation values.
