The 1982 edition of the standard was recommended for reaffirmation with minor editorial changes by the Standards Committee on April 18, 1986. Major changes include moving “Definitions” in old Section 8 into Section 3; moving old Subsection 3.2, “Instruments and Sensors,” to new Section 5; adding Subsection 7.5, “International Temperature Scale of 1990”; and adding Appendix D, “Calculation of Moist Air Properties.” Numerous other minor changes have been implemented throughout the standard. This edition of the standard was approved for publication by the ASHRAE Board of Directors on June 30, 1994, and reaffirmed on February 2, 2001.
